Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

Sounds to me like something the Septics would do. 'Highway'? Do we have those? Or do we have 'roads' instead?
  2. Sounds Far too Septic. Almost makes you want to scratch your tongue after saying it.

Why not something equally meaningful but slightly less cheesy!
  3. If we only have roads, why do we have a 'Highways Agency'?

    Confused, Uxbridge
  4. "Heroes Way" or even just "Heroes Road" would be far better...
  5. Fallen Way?
  6. Commemoration Way?

    In Memoriam Way?
  7. Alot better than that Cheesy Hero Line.

I almost feel the need to have deploy an American Accent whenever I say that word.

What about the Road name "For Valour" quite significant and would be recognised by those who need to know.
  8. Sounds good to me. I think we're singing from the same hymn sheet. The UK may be the 51st state of the USA but I don't see why we should totally adopt their way of life.

Something tasteful, something British and something that respects the sacrifice that some (unfortunately now many) have made.
  9. I can remember when roads were regularly named after battles and military heroes, so why not now?
