Jonesy, Military and State Police, I would expect the Military to have a far broader range of weaponry but don't make the mistake in thinking that Joe sixpack is equal to the State Police mate, he's not even close old son.
Sam I appreciate your points. But not all Joes are are meth heads. Some of those groups have people with skills and with a well rehearsed decent plan, will ruin LE’s day. LE is not going to have the firepower, and assets that the military has. No shake and bake fire missions to soften up positions, no 25 Mike Mike to pulverize buildings and strongpoints, no 240 to surpress the $hit out the bad guys.

Did you regularly conduct squad battle drills, and learn how to overcome a fatal funnel? Did you ever worry about somebody building a bunker in a drug house? Did you ever look for “ mouse holes” in the walls covering your avenues of approach? These are some of the tricks the militias will pull, not all are jokes to be sneered at.

Sorry mate but your knowledge is a bit behind the times were State Police weaponry is concerned.
Not just the state police, the Pinellas county school board took advantage of the federal program and brought an armoured car and M4 rifles with under barrel grenade launchers for the school resources officers, the police at the schools.

The people who haven't lived in the USA can't understand that the level of indignation about gun control is the same if in the UK people were banned from driving because of drunk drivers to protect people.

I was talking about the average Joe sixpack you mentioned. One more thing mate, the State Police services has a whole bunch of ex military people with a pretty big variety of skills and you may be surprised at the level of training the State Police puts it's people through.

Hey only one way to find out how good the militias are mate, but I don't reckon much for their chances.

Yes, I know Sam. But a well planned fire sack will negate skill. If you can throw enough lead into an area it will eventually connect.
If somebody has one of those belt fed AR’s with a bump stock, and creates a poor man’s SAW and sets their grazing fire at one meter, all they have to do is sweep their sector of fire to stop any assault.

Let us hope it never happens, but the polarization is bad. After the Bundy’s I don’t know if either side could back down.

Yeah that's worked well in a host of war zones, NOT.

Those militia guys, I've encountered a fair few of them and thought to myself that they'd keep most psychiatrists in a job for decades.

'If you don’t come from gun country, you will never understand firearms ownership.' So the Texas left don't live in the same country? So much for 'one nation under God', et al.
Yeah, it’s a goddamn shame that some leftist states have infringed on the citizens using state laws.

You are correct, about the keeping shrinks busy. But everybody needs job security!

The problem with that is that most of them are lazy kunts who don't work for a living and contribute the sum total of fcuk all to society.

I was reading today about the US expulsion of 21 Saudi Cadets in the aftermath of the shooting. I don't know how many students were investigated but that seems like a lot especially given that 15 of the 21 had child pornography in their possession.

The BBC suggested that there are over 850 Saudi students in the US right now and on the assumption they investigated just the shooters circle, there could be hundreds of Saudi students involved in child pornography. The shooting and terrorism are awful, but for me that’s a very troubling part too.

Strictly speaking, "While one of individuals had a significant number of images, all the rest had one of two images, in most cases posted in a chat room by some other person or received over social media".
Shades of that Met Police Super:

You are correct but for me one or two images, or being in a chat room where others are posting child porn or downloading one Is a big problem.

I am assuming you live in SOCAL? Maybe it's time for you to up sticks and move to WY or some such state where things are less restrictive?

Its an option I am looking into. The problem is there is an outflux of conservatives and moderates who feel over taxed/infringed and those states wages are often a lot lower. Probably not Wyoming - but the south/south west. Hell, Utah is beautiful.

Utah is great for outdoors and such, but could never live there, especially with booze licensing and opening times. And some of the bat shit crazy folk out there.

But hey, whatever suits you.

Bars in Utah can stay open for 15 hours a day from 10am to 1am and that includes Sunday. There is nothing wrong with the people of Utah, to say they are "batshit crazy" only serves to show that it's one more place you've never been to but you pretend you have.

I take it you haven’t been recently - it was a lot of craft brewery’s and spectacular scenery last year. I wouldn’t doubt the LDS settlements are ‘batshit’ though; /thread drift over.

Edit - you want batshit, check out the huge homeless encampments that are all over SF, L.A and SD. I saw a woman taking a dump in the central reservation this week in between pan handling (4th edit - She was pan handling, not me).

It always make me laugh when people say they love/hate a place and haven’t been ever or within 20 years.
