IIRC a Para Full Screw in the Falklands was a one man army fighting the Argie and would normally have received a decoration

But when he was KIA and the Padre went through his webbing he was found to be collecting argie body parts so no decorations

men can do very odd things under stress in war, things they might never think of doing, things they themselves might think horrific in other circumstances.

I watched this but cannot judge the man as I only see what the camera saw in its limited view
Most British Squaddies laugh at that rumour - it was meant to be ears - maybe someone knows better?

It alienated the specialised infantry like 3RAR who lost their para training and were sent off to do mundane infantry work up north. Pissing them off was NOT a smart idea. They were by far the best troops we had, and they were very disciplined.
I remember an Australian officer from 5/7 RAR in 1986 while on exercise in Malaysia ranting about 3 RAR swanning around Holsworthy (who they shared a camp with at that time) in a red beret and calling every one 'crap hats'. They were on the three month 'Rifle Company Buttleworth'posting and were using the ranges at Pulada ( 5/7 RAR that is).

He appears to be a deeply arrogant man, if not narcissistic, and I suspect his public fall from grace will, in his eyes, be wholly unfair and unjust. He probably thinks it's a conspiracy.

Still, I'd rather he get a proper kicking.
He got that defence in early.

Lawyer hounding Iraq soldiers says SHE'S a scapegoat! Lawyer hounding Iraq soldiers says SHE'S a scapegoat!

Then he conveniently sold his house to his daughters.... For cash. Before his bankruptcy. Both daughters had worked for Phil at pil.

He should, as we speak, be receiving his call up papers for nurse auxiliary. Working in the COVID-19 Isolation ward. He's still got a lot of taxpayers to pay back.

Yep. Ammo pouch full of ears was the story. Along with'line 'em up Louis' who allegedly started topping prisoners.

And don't forget the best rumour of all. It was illegal to sink the belgrano as she was steaming away from the Falklands outside the MEZ at the time of sinking.

A turd. But one who now has to live every day with that reputation ruined.
You think that really bothers him ?
With most of his assets moved prior to the investigation ending he's not going to be living on the breadline.

Sad but true.

However, being the Narcissistic C**t that he is, I would guess that being struck off and declared bankrupt, combined with the fall from grace and favour that goes with it, will affect him enormously.

** This does not detract from the fact that he should be transported to somewhere like Gitmo and abused entertained for the rest of his miserable life.

You set ground rules, and you expect them to be followed.

My uncle was a dog handler in the RAF. The V force were ready to go, and had a white line painted around each dispersal.

An American airman thought this was hilarious and kept steping in and out of the restricted area.

Uncle let his dog go. The US Airman would have had the scars until the day he died.

If you have reason to believe they understsnd the rules, its open season.

Eight investigations, the eight with a retired judge.

Shocking.

I'm sure a line could have been drawn after the fourth investigation...
Another Red Snapper fiasco..

Except this corporal was named and it is sourced in several books of repute of the war

Hmmmm - Crawling up to a body to cut off bits in the middle of a firefight ? Yes, the Argentines did fire back. Stuffing the bits in your empty mag pouches ( wtf are your mags n frags ? ). Wow. Really ?
Mutilating the dead is of course abhorrent and indefensible. However I'm a tad sceptical. Not because we're the sweetest smelling army ever, but because the tempo of ops in Corporate meant there was plenty to do other than cut off bits. I could be wrong here, but I thought burial details were echelon, as the front line bods would be digging in and stabilising the new front line.
