Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. post removed
  2. 2s with medals and no sword seems to be fairly common for officers attending the parade.
  3. Commissioning Parades No2s and Medals, no swords.

Sovereign's Parades No1s and Medals, no swords.

    If you understand the distinction...
  4. As the day is 'all about them' when I went 'off duty' I went in a suit.

if you have to (or want to) wear uniform then most military spectators will be in Ceremonial No1 (i.e. Braid Shoulder Boards, Sash, Medals, no sword). But SD with leather, medals, no sword will not be out of place if you are not sitting in the front row!
