    [FONT=&quot]Our client is looking to recruit a Sales Manager based in the South of England to join its Sales and Marketing team. This role arises from the need to further develop and expand opportunities within the UK Navy and prime contractors on potential new and existing Through Life Support contracts for our equipment on submarines and surface ships. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, it is expected that this role will progressively take responsibility for all UK sales and marketing activity.[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]The ideal candidate for this key role will already be a proven defence sector professional with significant high level UK defence sales experience. They will have an appreciation of engineered systems and the ability to interact consultatively and proactively with senior military capability sponsors, procurement executives and users. Most of all they will have the presence, bearing and attitude that makes them a natural fit within a Company that has grown substantially and organically by virtue of its engineering strengths and its ability to develop world-leading engineering products.[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]In addition to responsibilities for future business, the Sales Manager will be expected to work closely with all other facets of the business especially design/engineering, commercial, proposals, service support etc.[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]Tasks and Responsibilities:[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]To work with existing customers to ascertain opportunities for future business.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]To identify future business prospects with new customers.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]To develop new business opportunities using personal skills and effort; including meetings with customers, briefings, attending conferences, trade-shows, etc.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]To manage existing business to satisfaction of MacTaggart Scott customers and suppliers.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]To identify requirements for specialist support and inputs.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Work internally with Marketing, Commercial, Projects, Production and Engineering functions to ensure resources are established and tasked appropriately to support UK business.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Manage the day-to-day customer relationship to ensure satisfaction is achieved.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Manage the timely escalation of issues to MacTaggart Scott management and be responsible for communication of problem resolution status with customers.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Coordinate with engineering team to gather market intelligence and requirements for development of capability.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Be responsible for reporting of UK business to the Business Development Manager.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Participate in the management of relationships with partners and suppliers in UK.[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]Requirements:[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Degree related to mechanical/electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Mechanical, electrical and control systems knowledge and knowledge of applications in which the products are applied.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Good knowledge of UK Navy, UK Navy’s prime contractors and their procurement practices/processes.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]UK[/FONT][FONT=&quot] citizen, ideally with security clearance, or no impediment to obtaining security clearance.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Good knowledge of industry standards for equipment[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Good knowledge of market expectations for customer support.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Commercial terms and conditions awareness.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Strong mechanical/electrical/electronic ability to assist customers with troubleshooting.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Customer-oriented with professional demeanour.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Strong administration systems with Excellent attention to detail[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Computer skills including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) packages.[/FONT] · [FONT=&quot]Formal training in project/business management, customer support or equivalent experience would be a bonus.[/FONT] [FONT=&quot]Good salary package with the usual benefits is on offer to the successful applicant
