My customer needs a sales/account manager/engineer for telecoms infrastructure. They provide towers, antennas, power systems etc to network operators and system integrators globally and have a number of accounts that require the attention of a dedicated sales person in order to build relationships and extract maximum value. International travel is a key feature of the role, typically 1 or 2 weeks a month, so any candidate would really have to relish this aspect of the role rather than have to be able to just put up with it. They will have to travel alone to see clients, book their own flights, hotels, transfers, etc. They need to be a self-starter. A degree/professional qualification in telecommunications, engineering or construction related discipline is usually a feature of the best candidates. Sometimes an outgoing project manager who wants to see a little more action can be good. Some of their clients in Africa and the Middle East for example are a little old fashioned and can be challenging, especially if people appear naive, so you need to be bold! The accounts to be allocated are already generating seven figure gross margins so this is far from cold-calling sales - it's building on existing relationships, generating trust and showing that you and your company understand and can fulfill their needs. For the right person a base salary of £35,000 plus the same again in performance-related commission can be offered. This will suit a chap/chapess in their 30s with supervisory/leadership experience and a decent helping of self-confidence.. There are probably two vacancies - one open now, and another opening before Christmas. When applying please indicate when you would be able to start. PM/email me for a chat at any time from 0700-2200.
