Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

If I am doing an off-shore sailing exped from gib to ibixa what instr will I need? Am i right in saying i need an offshore skipper and a comp crew as a mate minimum?

Does anyone know if you can charter a boat from gib?

If anyone has the contact number of the yacht club down there please pm me.

  2. You'll no doubt need an RYA Yachtmaster to skipper, and a Day Skipper to act as mate - Comp Crew probably won't suffice.
  3. Try:

    Straits Sailing
    10 The Square
    Marina Bay

    Tel: 00 350 51372
    Fax: 00 350 51373

    Allabroad Sailing Academy (Gibraltar)
    e-mail or Call 00350 50202
    Local U.K. call rate number 0871 222 0274

Whatever you do, read the current AGAIs carefully. There are very specific requirements for yachts used for adventurous training and not all (or even many) of the commercially available bareboats meet the requirements. If you get any further pm me and I'll put you in touch with our agents in Gib.

    Blue Skies :)
  4. There is a place called "4 Dock" at Gib. It is basically the Gib AT centre. They have a yacht available. Should be easy to get the details and the people who work there are top.
