Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. There's some fairly comprehensive footage of the crash on liveleak.
  2. Have seen the video footage, performing that type of flying at such low altitude leaves no room for error, pilot just seemed to lose control of the aircraft.
  3. At least it was quick. I'd go for a control cable failure.
  4. I'd go for severe de-acceleration trauma.

  5. Too damn low for that sort of manoeuvre.

No shit. I'd say being planted in the ground is probably a little below the required altitude for most aerial manoeuvres.

  7. I think they call that a "splat"!
  8. "Stoof" also works well.

    The commentator dropped a couple:
0':22" - "Now you'd think that Jane is going to disappear from us..."

    (0':38" - impact)

0':50" - "Obviously this is something we had not counted on..."

Surely "Unsurpring news" would be more accurate?
  12. Only if you can't spell "unsurprising".

  13. Classic airshow mistake - thinking that low flying is admired by the audience. In actual fact, if you low fly, half the audience can't see you.
