Ukraine War in Ukraine

The Ukes have had plenty of time to prepare for any attack coming from Belarus. Methinks they will get hammered if they do attack. Plus, will Poland just sit back and watch that happen?
That the Bellendians er Belarus troops will get hammered is an almost money back guarantee.
As for Poland, they won't start anything, but if Vlad tries anything in that direction then Polish troops will tear the Russians apart like a shark on speed. The Poles also have territorial units which are well trained and motivated and have the advantage of literally being at home in the forests and mountains.

It seems that they will join russian troops in donbas or south, rather than open a new front in the North.

Which would be insane and end in tears.* don't rule it out though!

“Preventative nuclear strike” will prevent what exactly? Clearly it’s punitive, but who will they punish? Will they really nuke an EU state? Nuking even an unaligned EU state is in the really bad ideas box. Will they nuke the Ukes? There’s a real air of desperation in the noises coming from the RuSSians of late. Methinks there’s a build up of internal pressure within Ivan’s CoC, and maybe there’s more to the timing of the Crimea strike than we know?

There's the desperation behind the phoney referendum to annex the south of Ukraine.

It seems that the Russians think a fig leaf of democracy and national unification will present the Ukrainians with a fait accompli, and that will cause it's Western backers to stop supporting them in case attacks on the Rodina itself generate a nuclear response.

Like that will stop the Ukrainians fighting like a bag of Honey badgers.

Would a nuke strike on a EU state, if the fallout , fell onto a NATO member . Be cause for article 5?

The plebiscite gives a veneer of respectability to a naked land grab. While we speculate about a Winter without RuSSian gas. What we don’t know is the effects on RuSSia of a Winter without gas sales and a set of crippling sanctions. Could it be enough to defenestrate Putin, or even trigger regime change? Are the ‘stans becoming restless because of the seemingly endless stream of bodybags coming from Ukraine?
