Royal Navy fires warning shots as Spanish vessel

#2
But the US sub didn't respond to the encroaching boat? Just to go over the top a little, while we pussy foot around, a Daesh suicide squad could do a lot of damage. If there's a threat a flare is as much use as a a depth gauge in an aeroplane

Cant imagine the US Navy would have been overly chuffed with the Spainish fcuking around near their boat?

It's nuclear powered, not a Bomber. I wish that the press could understand the difference. If the plastic Spanish bathtub had really got anywhere near to it, it would have turned into matchsticks as it bounced off. It's all just yet more posturing by the Spanish.

It also happened a month ago, if it was really that big a deal, then we would have heard about it much sooner. Crap like this happens all of the time. The Spanish are basically children with a worn out Aircraft Carrier trying to play Big Boys games.

Nothing to see here, move along please.

Last time the Spanish f-ed around with the US Navy they lost 4 cruisers and 2 destroyers off Santiago de Cuba, and 7 cruisers and a transport in Manila bay.

Gibraltar says Spanish vessels regularly stray deep into its territorial waters and the Foreign Office has attacked the incursions as provocative.
But can such entity as Gibraltar have 'territorial waters'? Only soveregn countries can have territorial waters. If Gibraltar is a part of the UK then they are British territorial waters. Am I right?

As a Russian I don't think you have any genuine interest when it comes to respecting the territory of others.

Oh poo. We are off to Gib for the weekend. This means the green meanies will be playing silly buggers on the border.

On the plus side, the boat has left, so there won't be a load of Elmers wandering around!

Yes

board the buggers, claim salvage, hang a few of the crew as a lesson to the others, set the rest adrift in a small wooden boat, home in time for tiffin and medals, split up the booty - share to Betty for the war chest, 20% to the captain, the rest split amongst the crew. Jobs a good un.....

Pah, and the Remainers keep saying that we don't have any post-Brexit plans.

ETA: Spanish police boat - the booty is likely to be a half empty bottle of red wine, a few leftover Tapas and a soiled Real Madrid footie shirt. Our crew might be a tad disappointed with their share

Hang on a minute, KGBs - I thought that you didn't hold with discussing imaginary events?

Russian bikers kindly remind us that it was THEM that saved the world | Page 17 | Army Rumour Service

You understand our discussion in the wrong way. We have exchanged opinions. That's all. It is impossible to establish truth discussing imaginary events.

Last time they tried with the Royal Navy, they lost an entire armada.

They're British territorial waters, specifically those relating to Gibraltar. Both are true.

Let's see how long they can afford to keep it for after they petulantly refused to join in at the beginning of the F35 programme, thus costing themselves a heck of a lot more per aircraft.

@Magic_Mushroom, @Crepello.
It appeared to be a right decision. Su-35 is apparently better and less expensive.
Could Spain quit NATO, at least its military structures? Why not? It can not be excluded. There are no any external threats to Spain and NATO is useless agaists terrorists.
