  1. I took an hour or so off work today to pop into Shrewsbury to watch the Royal Irish Regiment parade through the town after returning from Afghanistan.

I took my civvy business partner along and we were pleasantly surprised to see how many people turned out to give the lads a well deserved round of applause as they marched up to Shire Hall. A good turn out from the lads, and the pipes and drums caused more than a few old soldiers in the crowd to stand a bit taller and brace up.

Even my greyhound was impressed with the Irish Wolfhound mascot.

Well done lads - good parade, and a thank you to all those who came out to show their appreciation of a job well done.
