royal hampshire military figures

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Looking for an old CD earlier this afternoon and came across a box of 13 military figures left to me when a relative died. They depict uniformed soldiers from the 1700-1900s. The earliest being 7th Regiment of foot (1728) and the latest a Scots Guard (1907)
They are on wooden bases, approximately 90mm tall, and I assume they're made of pewter although I am unable to decipher the hallmarks on them (one is a little blurry, the second a crown and the third the number 91). The base of them is velvet or velure and bares the name "Royal Hampshire", some with the sculptors signature R. Harly(?).
I'm interested in any information anyone has on either them, or Royal Hampshire as a Google search was not particularly forthcoming, save for a few similar figures up on ebay for around £15.
Apologies if this post isn't in the right place, been a while since I posted.

    Many thanks
