Royal Engineers in Helmand from New Civil Engineer magazine

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The quote above is from a longer article in New Civil Engineer magazine and contains details of work the Engineers are undertaking in Afghanistan. It dates from the beginning of March so apologies if its already been posted (I tried a search but didn't find anything). If this is new to ARRSE then I hope it is of some interest. A log-in is needed to view NCE articles, it is however free to sign up. The site also contains lots of other news about more general civil engineering which may be of interest as well as some other (shorter) articles on Afghanistan.

  2. I can post the full article. However if the MODS think that this may be a problem, please delete it:

  3. Read it back in March.

Fails to mention the Bridge at Violino crossing was blown up by the taliban. Re-built within hours, so deserves twice the praise that it's getting.
