A bite at last , i do believe the troopers in 1 sqn of QDG have more operational tour medals than the
entire WO's and SGTs mess at the RDG .

Anyone in these forums a proud member of the RDG's? And even if your not could i get some info on them in general, what are they like as a reg etc
Not RDG, but have served with them. quality regiment a mixture of Yorkshire and Irish due to the amalgamation of 4th/7th Dragoon guards and the 5th inniskillings. Very good banter and a penchant for the bevvy, can be bullshoietty but overall a very good unit. Lads are very down to earth as you can imagine with the areas recruited, the occifers posh, posh, posh!!! Good at what they do and look after their attached arms. You could do a lot worse believe me!!!

I'd like to say they are a bunch of good eggs and the top of the RAC gunnery this season (even 30mm, check the scores) and paveway you talk boll*cks, there's quite a tidy amount of gongs in our mess, maybe the QDG could play cricket for the ashes of theirs!!!!!

Well said and how true, however the QDG have always been a decent Regiment, its a shame one or two spoil it for the rest of them with over rated misguided Celtic views.

I must say I enjoyed my brief stint with RDG, arrived on a Tuesday and was playing regimental rugby on the Saturday - excellent fun.

Then it went downhill when the EME told me to buy a Reggie Jumper - the end result is now history.

RSM at the time was a chopper though - tried to threaten/bollock me for not buying the jumper - that worked (not!).
