Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. On the 22/23 Jan 1879 138 men lead by Lieutenant John Rousse Merriot Chard successfully defended the Rourkes Drift mission station against 4000 Zulus. Hurrah for the CRE!

  2. Did the bridge get built though

  3. Were you there?

  12. Why 31 when Chard was from 5 field squadron (now 5AES)?

  13. I'll bet you think Braveheart was a true story too!

  14. Remember the bit where Michael Caine points his sword at the leading Zulu, and shouts, "Fire at Will......"
