RMP Detachments

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Just a quick question,

Are there any RMP Detachments/Troops/Platoons (Or whatever)

    Based in or around Cheshire?

I read from the Army site, the closest was in Catterick...

  2. I would think that Donington would be closer.
  3. There's a detachment in Denton Manchester. 116Coy.
  4. Thank you very much.
  5. Isn't that a TA detachment?
  6. Whatever happened to Preston? Apart from becoming part of Scotland according to the RMP site?
  7. Wot Weatern said
  8. SIB Only now in Preston - non?
  9. Shanks, nope, not even SIB in Preston anymore, the whole of the North of England is now covered from Catterick.
  10. I was based at Preston whilst serving with 150, the camp near Blackpool kept us busy as well as A&D jobs.
  11. That must present some challenges?

It is and was a recurring theme going from centralised units to lots of little isolated Detachments and back again. I thought there were plans afoot for a new Garrison in the NW?
  12. Sorry, yes it is.
