Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Bought a Ringflash (Canon fit). When I fit the Ringflash to the lens should I remove the UV Filter and screw the flash to the lens or can I leave the filter on and fit the flash to the filter.

I realise this is probably a major Knob question and experienced flashers will be pissing themselves with laughter

.... oh, sorry, I stumbled on this and thought it had something to do with igniting a Curry fart. Bye (exeunt stage right.)
  3. leave the uv filter on.
  4. It probably won't make much difference but with the flash source so close to the lens then a UV filter, however well coated still gives 2 more internal surfaces for flare and or distortion. Trial and error might be the best bet
