If I was to want a No 8 where would you recommend getting one and what's the general price ranges these days?

They turn up occasionally in the UK, and last time I saw one it was around £800.

Here's an N9 (not No.9, which according to here was the Parker-Hale marking on their civilian equivalent) for £POA... Lee Enfield No9 Training Rifle
 
Yup, it can be a bastard. Won and paid for a Unique combo rifle/pistol at auction, matching serials. Good price too (35 squids), but spent too much time outside the country working and missed the deadline for paperwork. It went back on auction and probably sold to some other lucky bugger who hopefully appreciates it.

Marketing. A dealer is asking. He makes and sells replica firearms movie props and the like. It had me stumped
 
I think it's a typo of RIF. Realistic Imitation Firearm. RIFs are covered by the Violent Crime Reduction Act as a "controled item" and you have to have a defence to purchase one. Things like reenactment, Airsoft and I guess movies.
