I gave that a funny, but when you think about it, it really isn’t!
I love reshuffles - does any Minister, walking the path of Doom along Downing Street towards No 10, ever answer the screeching journalists, smelling blood on the other side of the Street?!

She would make a cock-up of it, with even those resources at her disposal :( .

There is absolutely no reason why the RN should sully its fine reputation, clearing-up the debacle, which is of the BF's own making.

I do not think BF staff have the resolve, or willingness, to now work in a more robust manner. The sooner they are ALL sent back to their "airport arrivals desks", the better.

Clearly the UK does have uniformed personnel with the required skills, knowledge and experience, to implement the more robust policy of "Push Back", but I would anticipate those personnel being "seconded" to FB ;) .

Who are they then?

She makes all the right noises but is completely ineffective, having said that, sorting out the Home Office is a gargantuan task that can probably only be done by immediately sacking most of the senior civil servants there for gross misconduct or insubordination at least, same for the police. I don't know if there's anyone in the current government with the intestinal fortitude for it.
Penny Mordaunt !!

Hasn't the MOD suffered enough? Get Penny back in that job.

Home Office does have the resources & support yet it's the mandarin woke & workshy mindset that's dragging down Priti's clown department.
Would that be the same Penny, as my nomination . . . Ms Mordaunt ?!

I didn't realise she had already been at the HO !!

The TV stations were unanimous at lunch time, that the "long knives" are used in the PM's office, behind the Speaker's Chair, in the HoC . . . to save those being sacked from embarrassment . . . and keep them away from the media !! ;) .

Those SUBSEQUENTLY seen in Downing Street, are those with new positions, responsibilities, appointments, on their minds.

I am sat, eagerly waiting for my call from No 10! :)

Liz Truss has announced that her first order of business is to try to open up new pork markets with the recently-installed government of Afghanistan.

Peter Hitchen has been saying something similar for years.
Peter Hitchens is a raving, spittle flecked luna.....oh.....

I never tire of this though

As they walk out, “HAVE YOU BEEN SHAFTED MINISTER”?

I've never managed to get a handle on that press tactic. Has a politician ever responded to the shrill and anonymous cry from the pavement, "Are you a complete cnut, minister?!!" Has it ever resulted in a quotable reply and a fantastic career-validating scoop for the journo?
