  1. Hi Guys.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a few questions that I can not seem to find the answer to...

I am at a small unit that had (until recently) PARA slots. I was lucky enough to be in one of these slots and receive PARA pay. Unfortunately 16 AA BDE have called back these slots as my unit can not justify having them.

Although I completely understand the reasons for calling back the slots and agree that our unit can not justify having them, I have just lost £160 a month from my wage, which to me pays my council tax and water bill!

I remember seeing in a Soldier magazine last year that PARA pay had reserve band rights, but can not find anything lately.

Surely I can't just be deducted £160 without first cushoning the financial blow?

Any help with on this matter would be massively appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Phil.

  2. I will dig out the new rules but sadly once you lose the para billet you lose para pay. The same happend to a few para lads who lost their legs in afghan. Para pay was taken away when they reached Headly.
