Researching old TACs (Rawdon/Guisley)

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Just dropped me car off for MOT and on the way to work I noticed some poppies on a community centre. Turns out they were for a REME/TA Cpl who died in 1955 on duty. A little research later it turns out this used to be a TA Centre until 1970.

Anyone know what unit this was? (unit may have been l/r based as the windows to the chinesse restaurant/ex garages are quite low, although they have done some rebuilding, I suspect its REME but putting a REME unit near a load of garages/mech engineering buildings would be too logical)

Or any tips on researching the above?
