Request For Help With Uniform Identification

A request for help with confirmation on the following photograph if I may today, please.

We think that this gentleman was an Officer in the Royal Marine Light Infantry.

Not quite sure when the photo is likely to have been taken, though.

All assistance very gratefully received, as always.

He sports a WWI pair, thus the image is early 1920s at least. As his collar badge would seem to be the RM Globe and Laurel*, this would suggest that it's post-1923, the year when RMLI and RMA amalgamated.

*the original RMLI badge had a LI bugle atop the globe:

ETA: yes, given his WWI service (and assuming that it wasn't with another Regiment) it is probable that he was originally RMLI.

Does the fact that the gentleman doesn't have the 1914-1915 Star mean that he first served in a theatre of war after 31st December 1915?
