This might be the reason why:

    "Dominic Casciani‏@BBCDomC
No injuries that the police know of at present. Two incidents in three weeks in West Mids involving explosive devices near mosques"

    via twitter.

It does look as if someone is trying to stir up trouble as this coincided with the funeral of Fus Rigby.

  2. I wasn't aware there were any contra-Islam terror groups in this country, not ones willing to resort to planting explosives anyway.

  3. Give it ten years (if that) and the UK will be like bloody Ulster.

Especially before the ABI ( Arrse Bureau of Investigation) have looked at the internet evidence. They'll be along shortly with a blue strobe light by the keyboard.

IIRC Combat 18 was one of the far right groups that was planning to go down that route. In reality though it always seems to be disaffected right wing nutters preparing for a race war that perform acts like this - and who are then amazed when the white populace doesn't rise up on their signal.

  9. Apparently the blast did £3.45 worth of damage. Locals are having a whip round to cover the cost and appealing to governement to make up the £3 shortfall.

  10. It's new but not completely unprecedented. David Copeland, who killed three people and injured 139 others(including four people who lost limbs)with nail bombs, was a member of both the BNP and the National Socialist Movement. One of the bombs exploded in Brick Lane, which has a large Bangladeshi community.

Copeland was a lone nutter, but it's not inconceivable that a small group of Far Right mouth-breathers have decided to copy his methodology. Or it could be another lone Adolf Walt who's had a sudden rush of blood to his cock and thinks The Turner Diaries are an instruction manual rather than a novel...
