RENLEAVE

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Can anyone shed some light, what is the window (ie, 15 to the 17 year point) for the second batch of Renleave and how long is it?

    Cheers :thumleft:

  2. Re-engagement Leave, also known as RENLEAVE or "leave on prolongation of Service", is granted to those soldiers who joined the Army before 31 March 1999 as compensation for the postponement of terminal leave.
20 working days RENLEAVE may be granted to eligible soldiers who have committed themselves to 12 years continuous Colour service having completed 11 years continuous Colour service.
20 working days RENLEAVE may also be granted to eligible soldiers who have committed themselves to 18 years continuous Colour service having completed 17 years continuous Colour service.
A soldier who signifies an intention to leave the Colours is no longer eligible for RENLEAVE.
Not more than one period of RENLEAVE is admissible to soldiers eligible under either qualifying criterion.
RENLEAVE is to be taken at the earliest convenient opportunity after qualifying for it, either separately or in addition to any other form of leave (except terminal leave) for which the soldier is eligible.
RENLEAVE is to be taken within the first three years after the soldier has qualified for it, and may be taken in individual periods of not less than 5 working days.

  3. I heard a nasty rumour that RENLEAVE is going to be scrapped under JPA! Can anybody shed any light on this please.

  4. I'm positive I read somewhere recently that RENLEAVE can now be added to termination leave.

As for the JPA question, I too have heard a rumble reference it being scrapped, but there is that much sh!t and rumour mungering about JPA, I dont know what to believe and would rather wait untill its rolled out.

  5. better not be scrapped, i'm due my second lot a few weeks after JPA comes in. with that + POTL + ALA, i should be able to bugger off to australia travelling for a couple of months on return later this year lol

  6. You are entitled from your 17 year point, this is contracted, therefore cannot change

  8. because they've never changed the contract before, have they? what happened to my 5 and 8 year bonuses then? sure they were in the contract when i signed on the dotted line.

  9. The new ruling is that in exceptional circumstances RENLEAVE can be added to Terminal Leave, however, a case must be submitted through C of C, so, no change really.

  10. DB, I note from other posts that you keep stating that they cannot change your contract, well they can, it's in your TACOS (Terms and Conditions of Service), for want of a better word, your contract, and it states quite clearly that TACOS can be altered.
