Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. What is the format for a remembrance sunday parade? I'll be parading without my unit this year for the first time and I don't want to be the only mong not saluting at the right time.
  2. March to church, go inside church, march out of church. Have a few beers to remember.

    ^Standard format
  3. Will anyone else be at Stevenage? Always good turnout.
  4. If in uniform and wearing headdress then it is WO and above that salute - up at the first note of last post, down at the first note of reveille.

    OR to attention.

If in uniform and no headdress then to attention for all.
  5. Cheers for that. Didn't want to look a div.

I am on parade in Wakefield tomorrow, anyone else there :?
  7. Out of curiosity, if not in uniform, but wearing headress, do you or dont you salute?

    Serious question!
  8. Not if you are still serving.
  9. The short answer is no!
I paraded as part of the REME association contigent this year.
Most of us were wearing a beret.........some not.
On the march past down Whitehall it was the senior officer that saluted, the rest of us gave an eye's left.......normal form.
