Remembering Fromelles event in aid of SSAFA and Combat Stress

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Following the official commemorative ceremony taking place at Fromelles, France on 19th July, a special talk on the project will take place on Saturday 7th August, delivered by Julie Summers, compiling editor of the book of the same name, whose previous work includes "Remembered: An illustrated history of the CWGC".

    The day will consist of 4 presentations.

    Session 1 – The Battle of Fromelles, Paul Cobb. Author of Fromelles 1916.

    Session 2 - Remembering Fromelles, Julie Summers. Compiling editor and historian.

    Session 3 – The Archaeology & Finds, Kate Brady. Oxford Archaeology Team’s Finds Specialist.

    Session 4 – 20th Century Conflict Archaeology, Dr Nicholas Saunders, University of Bristol.

    Tickets are priced at £12.50 or £10.00 for concessions (OAP’s & service personnel / veterans).

    Refreshments included.

    Proceeds from ticket sales support Combat Stress and SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association).

    Remembering Fromelles takes place at Eastbourne College Theatre on Saturday 7th August 2010.

    Doors open at 12.30pm (Sessions start 1.00pm - Finish 5.30pm).
