I may not particularity want to vote for them, but it would be good to have a fresh set of people as an option to consider - on all sides of the political spectrum.

Hopefully it would make the larger two parties consider if they were actually offering what people would consider voting for, or whether their support was more to do with traditional 'tribal loyalty'.

Like any country with the word 'democratic' in its title: it generally isn't. Deutsche Demokratische Republik, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Democratic Republic of Congo, People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, etc.

Don't misunderstand me. I'd love to see a party of the right as an alternative to the Tories, just not one populated by squabbling crackpots with all the organisational skills and sense of direction of a litter of puppies.

The article started well with the second word being “racist” and the second paragraph dribbling on about “right wing” agenda. So far, so good with all the Bugsys in a froth of Marxist indignation.

Then the cerebellums across the left start entering a constant reset loop as the Reform agenda starts to hold forth on everything the “readers” of Socialist Worker would ordinarily hold dear, basically Boris is the Antichrist. I’d imagine lefty hovels across the land are in meltdown tonight over Reform; on the one hand racist and right wing, on the other socking it to Boris.
