Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Looks like investigation into the redcaps killed in Iraq is progressing...

    Clicky

Lets hope the Iraqui courts don't balls up

  2. You'd think that the BBC would start employing copy writers who had half a clue...

The officers killed in Al Majar al-Kabir were: Cpl Paul Long, 24, of Colchester in Essex, Sgt Simon Hamilton-Jewell, 41, of Chessington, Surrey, L/Cpl Ben Hyde, 23, of Northallerton, North Yorkshire, Cpl Russell Aston, 30, of Coton-in-the-Elms, Derbyshire, Cpl Simon Miller, 21, from Washington, Tyne and Wear, and L/Cpl Thomas Keys, 20, from Llanuwchllyn, near Bala in Wales.

    RIP

  3. I worked on the real story investigation 3 years ago. They seemed to think that because the chaps were 'Police' they should be addressed as Officers. Our lot (Fiona Bruce) referred to them as soldiers to avoid confusion after a bit of prompting.

By the by one of the family members was so upset that he was going to protest at the Remembrance Service at Westminster Abbey (The families had all been invited by the spineless MOD as some sort of placatory gesture)

  4. Seems the guilty parties were known a long time ago but coalition washed their hands of it and passed matters to the local police, Doubtless, they were same tribe as offenders. We used to be pretty clever at finding wanted people in NI but it seems those skills were not transferable.

Much opportunity for cock up even before it gets to local court. There will be no Brit witnesses as to the end events. Any forensic after a mob stormed over the scene would be of poor quality.
