Recognition of old AFVs

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Not sure whether this area or the military history one is the correct forum, but I just saw this picture pasted in a WW2 story to which it appeared completely unrelated.

    Can anyone identify these vehicles?

  2. L3/33 tankettes in the front I reckon, not sure on the armoured cars at the back though

    Looks a bit Froggie.
  4. If so then a mix of Italian tankettes and Austrian armoured cars. What could the unit be? What nation? Where?
  5. L3/33 were purchased by Austria prior to WW2, so my guess is Austrian Army unit:

    [TH]Used by[/TH]
Italy, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, China,Croatia, Hungary, Nationalist Spain,Nicaragua, Iraq, and others
  6. The mix of tankettes and Steyrs indicates an Austrian unit, pre-Anschluss.
  7. Many thanks for the informed replies and comments.

  10. Makes sense since the tankettes are armed with Schwarlose MG M.07/12's instead of bredas
