Realistic / Unrealistic War films

#1
Theres alot of naff crap out there, but there are also some realistic ( combat wise ) war films aswell.

I mean lets take windtalkers, grenades that explode into a ball of flame, enemies running at Cage while he picks them off with a thompson in one hand. I mean do the directors acutally research before doing a film.

So I just want to know what everyone thinks the most realistic war film is in terms of when they are in combat.

Not necessarilly a film, but there was a play screened on BBC during the `80`s called CONTACT based on a book by a para officer, think it caught the NI border thing pretty well 8)

Unfortunately not, I have enquired but the BBC has no plans to release one, I have it on video from a screening in the `90`s but messed the timer up and its missing the last 5 or 10 mins.
