Re-mounting medals

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. The ribbon on my GSM is 'shot at' so I have bought a new ribbon. Has anyone got any tips for stitching the beggar so that it looks OK ?

Yep. Get someone else to do it. ;-)
Plenty of companies about or the camp tailor.

Sent from my iPhone using the ARRSE application. No excuse for fat fingers. Learn to spell.
  3. I'd send it to the tailor's, it'll only cost you a few quid. I believe that MittMayo does that service. I did have a shot at re-mounting mine which went well after a few attempts. But that was only because I bought a replacement and the court mount backing was too long, plus the ribbon was glued on.
You can find guides from websites for a small fee (£5) then try and find your own way of mounting it.
