Gentlemen, I was fortunate enough today to be present at the Dedication of the Corps of Royal Engineers Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas, Staffordshire. (www.nationalmemorialarboretum.com) If you haven't been, and you get a chance GO! It is a 200 acre site with memorials to many Regiments and Corps, and Naval and Air force too. The RE site is made up of four massive boulders from the Falkland Islands, with a huge carved cap badge in slate at the centre. It is a sight to behold. Very well worth a visit to remember all those Sappers having paid the ultimate price.
