RAVC Military Dogs.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Has anyone seen or heard of a book about the role of RAVC dogs in Iraq and Afghanistan?
I've googled for it and checked out numerous book sites but to no avail.

I'm hoping to find a copy for middle son's 12th birthday (14th Feb).

All help very very much appreciated.
  2. Sorry no,as far as im aware their arent any books at all about the RAVC dogs, found plenty of stuff on the Yanks and their dogs but nothing about ours

though if you look in the NOW THATS WHAT I CALL ARRSE forum, you'll find stories of one of us in Northern Ireland where he was a dog person, search WAGTAIL and STUMPY and you should get the stories. Print them out and bobs your uncle. Hardly any swearing!
  4. Hi,
I'm thinking of joining the working dogs but was just wondering if the British army has a scout dogs core like the Americas or not as I no we have sniffers, bomb detection and security dogs…
  5. no we don't

    hope that answers your question
  6. We have an intelligence corps. Some of them have dogs.
