Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi all,

Does anyone know anything about the painting/print of the medic helping the soldier with the angel behind him?
You know the one... somewhere in every RHQ, just not mine!

  2. I gave one away to the padre at my last unit, can't remember any details on it though. (named angel of mercy?)

  4. I believe we are looking for the WW1 style one, Solider being helped by medic with angel looking over their shoulders. So far google has not produced the goods for me.

  5. It's called the Angel of Mons and you should be able to get a poster print of the painting or more info from the AMS Museum at Keogh Bks. Tel - 01252 868612 for the shop.

    Hope this helps.

  10. There's two angels! Many reprints (such as in the front of the Medical VC Book) cut them out finishing just above Christ's head.
