RAF Police vehicles

A friend and I would like to build up a RAF Police Vehicle for reenactment purpose. It should ne a Vauxhall from the 70's/80's. What we need were some pictures to know the colors and markings.

First may I qualify this by saying I know people in re-enactment groups so I am aware of the interest and and fun in these groups however - "a Vauxhall RAF Police Vehicle from the 1970's to 80's " - why? In God's name why?

Do not begin to question the sanity of anyone who wants to walt around dressed as a snowdrop, it defies all logic and common sense.

Get a chevette estate and paint it a sickly green colour. Stick a roof rack on with a white box and a light in it. Paint "RAF Police" on the box so when the light is switched on it illuminates the words. Stick a blue light on top.

Then see how many people you can cram inside while driving to duty supper after the plods leave it with the keys in the ignition outside the squadron......

You need some serious psychiatric help, as for re-enactment doing what ? raising and lowering a barrier, looking at entry passes,.... FFS, get a life!

The worst attempt at walting, ever.

I'll give the OP the benefit of the doubt by assuming it's for one of the Cold War fast jet groups; one of them even moved a Cold War QRA shed somewhere and occasionally do a Lightning scramble re-enactment.

Were the RAFP involved in scrambles? I know they were involved in nuclear alert fun in Germany, but Lightnings?

Don’t knock it.

I’ve seen INT Corps security sections for re-enactment purposes. They may even specialise checking if you’re using XPM in you’re pretend armoury and you’ve got the right grade of barbed wire.

For full on effect they even give mock security interviews for good soldierswho dare to have a different sexual orientation.

Not directly but I assume the armed aircraft and Q-sheds were guarded by the plods. However, I just used the Lightning gang as an example. The car may equally be for one of the 'night photo-shoots' of other types that some of these groups use to raise money.

Re-enactment is really not my thing so I've no idea what they want it for.

MM
