Zero lifeing airframes has always been a mystery to me.
Too much temptation to use old parts to keep cost down, after all if 'IT' never failed before then 'IT' has a 100% servicability record.
Intresting to see that a series of failures brought the aircraft down and that inflight refueling is now banned.
I remember old Hueys having bad radio problems, Green Empire silent. Airframe jig purchased for unrelated reasons. 100 % rewireing done on coms during rebuild. Radio problems cured. Suddenly the Green Empire had know all along, it was old wiring, that had caused the problems.
