Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Can anyone help, looking to purchase a rab jacket, theres loads on the web to choose from seeking some advice of what sort and the best place to shop.
  2. Really? Can't imagine its as warm as a softy - is it?

But there again that could be an advantage if you're not too bothered about being static but want to be able to move/patrol in it when cold and a softy would just lead to you overheating.
  3. Has anybody tried the Norweigan version of the softy - green one side white the other. Think they are about £70 as opposed to £90 for a sasquatch.
  4. the tacgear jackets much warmer than a rab also a lot tougher and also you can control the heat you require :desertsoldier:
  5. I have just bought a Warmpeace sneaker jacket.

  6. I'd go for a Buffalo, there are a few different styles now. I was planning one of their belay jackets. My Buffalo mountain shirt has coped with everything.

  7. I have to agree. Down jackets are great for sitting around/belaying. I just use my buffalo when active then slip on a Paramo torres waistcoat over the top when I stop. :D
  8. Alpkit are very good for down jackets at sensible money ALPKIT Link
  9. Think Rab Jackets are a bit scruffy myself. Don't look very warm either.
