R IRISH Casualty in Afghanistan 6 Apr

  1. Just before mid-day on 6 Apr, OC A Coy, 1 R IRISH, was wounded in action in Sangin, Afghanistan by an explosive device. Next of Kin have been informed.

    He is listed as Seriously Ill (SI) and is being treated in the Camp Bastion medical centre. His injuries are not life threatening and he is well enough to have spoken with his wife. He will be evacuated shortly from Afghanistan back to the United Kingdom for further treatment.
