Questions about The TA?

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hello, I have a few questions about the TA and would appreciate it if you could answer them thankyou.

If you pass phase 1 and phase 2 TA training for an infantry TA regiment can you transfer afterwards to a regular infantry regiment without doing phase 1 and 2 again ?

Also how do you join the TA? Do you have to pass ADSC, interviews or tests? Or can you just turn up?

  2. Find your local unit (or one which you want to join), call them up and say you're interested in joining. Go and meet them. They'll give you more info about the TA and that particular unit. You have to do a selection day and then the 6 weekends followed by a 2 week course and you're in. Simples.

  3. Just a thought but if you are serious about being an Infantryman (let alone a "ParaTrooper") you might just think about doing the run in a little bit less than 12.34......

  4. So you are mentally preparing to fail basic ? Will then hopefully join the TA, then sideswipe your way back into the regs on the assumption that you'll smash TA training, job done ? Boil your head you lemon, and id suggest, with statements like this and with a run time only equalled by Prince Rollo Bollombo of the Tongan Monarchy when he chased a rogue Jammy Dodger down a mountain path, that you change your avatar to something a little more fitting you filthy beefer....
