Edge Hill; seems to have a fairly credible programme and faculty, but the best show of their alumni is apparently:
If that Wikipaedia entry doesn't put off most of the A Levellers, I don't know what will.
Don’t forget that Alumni lists for such establishments frequently include those who have received honorary degrees.

When I was at school we (our parents) bought our own pens, pencils, geometry sets, paper etc from shops

As I do for my daughter.
But the school still needs that £5 a month per pupil to get by.

Don't forget according to Labour and others kids are still turning up at school starving and barefoot
Some parents are so poverty stricken they're down to 20 fags a day and getting by on a I phone 6S

I was a board member for a school for 4 years. As part if the finance committee we kept a tight control of spend. By far the biggest spend was people costs. If managed properly the budget was adequate. We even had a modest surplus which we used to sub school trips for the most under ptrivelaged kids. All this in a school which was rising up the Ofsted ranking table, and generally better or way better than the national everages. This in a school which did not enjoy the greater per pupil funding that London and other cities got.

If you provide free food, some parents will gladly exploit it for their kids whilst telling you with a straight face that they are starving, and need even more. It's simply a matter of supply creating demand, and bad parenting.

well that Laurence Fox seems to have created a bit of a stir.

I assume that's the end of his acting career and he'll never be on QT again...........

What a surprise! The ‘audience member’ who took offence at Laurence Fox occasionally appears on the BBC News as a “Newspaper reviewer”. A member of the public my arse.
As for Laurence - good on him. Why should he apologise for being a white Englishman in England and he was absolutely right. When Rachel Boyle (of West Indian background), employed as a lecturer specialising in race, racism and ethnicity (of course) called him a “white privileged man”, she was being racist herself and should be called out on it.

Did you skip a few pages of the thread, old chap? ;)

As an update on Laurence Fox.
He was mentioned on Radio 5 on Thursday and Friday night, on the QT extra time show and Stephen Nolan show respectively.

You may not be surprised to hear that in both shows the opinion was that he was wrong, and that being from a wealthy background he wouldn't understand racism and should keep his mouth shut and listen to those who know.

There has to be an irony whereby callers or commentators are saying Fox who had a wealthy background wouldn’t understand the goings on for a royal prince and a well known celebrity.

=-| Fair one! I was reacting to an article in today’s paper, rather than the thread. I should have known ARSSERs were all over this - doh!

I feel a mobilisation coming on - save the Fox!

Actors' Equity are on his case now.

Denounce? what a bunch of fannies
Why don't they denounce the fact Asian grooming gangs get away with it because the police are terrified to denounce them.
Why don't they denounce Emma Thompson for flying in to take part in a climate protest and then flying back out again while preaching to the working class to stop taking holidays abroad to placate a 16 year old.

There are plenty more things to denounce in this world apart from a white man challenging the white privilege narrative being used against him.

And they wonder why people think they are out of touch.

You need to be quick. The Arrse Air Accidents Investigation Team have solved air accidents that have yet to happen.

In fairness they fingered the Iranians for the shooting down of that 737 before the CIA and the rest ever did.
Someone here posts it looks like there's shrapnel holes in it and the narrative round the world changed in a heartbeat.

You didn't need to see any evidence of shrapnel damage. The fact that the Iranian government denied responsibility unequivocally was enough.

Exactly.
"Equity’s minority ethnic members committee;)described his words on the programme as “disgraceful playing to the gallery” and labelled him a “disgrace to our industry”.

To them I say "Do you like sex & travel?"
Well :hump:off.

However....
Equity said: “These tweets were sent out by two committee members without consultation with the committee as a whole or Equity staff. Equity has asked for the tweets to be taken down while a more considered response to the issue is discussed.”

Spot on. He called out someone with lots of form for being racist for being racist.

I sense a backlash from 'normal' people against these woke bellends for their persistent racism over the last two decades.

For years we've collectively bit our tongues whilst we've had unearned guilt forced upon us. Now that we've become the targets for racism, I can see people starting to fight back.

If it ends with racist cnuts like Boyle losing their platform and the BBC losing its funding, then all the better.

I expect he's quietly feeling grateful that the last Labour government banned Fox hunting now.

My coat...? Why, thank you.

Not for Arrse CSI they like to present the full evidence

Trump, Trudeau, Boris - The Iranians told us they didn't do it that's good enough for us.
GCHQ Flash mail to Langley - There's a couple of blokes on Arrse claiming it's full of shrapnel.
Trump - I have it on good authority that Bravo Bravo hasn't done any tours the war dodger oh and those Iranians shot that plane down.

They keep an eye on us you know
