Question Time Commentary

@Richard Headicus
We're sort of bidding against each other here. You don't seem aware that I'm in the leave camp.
I crunched the numbers elsewhere to about 62% Leave by constituency, 75%Leave by region yet only 25% of MPs are leavers.
The quantity having a quality of its own was, iirc, one of Stalin's referring to German forces being considered better but Russian inferior stuff being more numerous.

My points being that it's worth the occasional look at the other side of the coin just to get an idea of the mindset.

Yes I'd say countering it with facts should work but The Canary article shows how they can switch argument away from Thornberry's ridiculous policy statement to something that some may argue is true (about foodbanks) but can legitimately claim ET was shut down.
Swamp the arena with 2nd grade irrelevant arguments and you can still look like you're in the right but being hushed up.

You'll probably call it the same as I would -obfuscation. And the result is you end up with crowds thinking they're supporters of democracy by claiming they're 'Stopping a coup' - without stopping to consider that there isn't a coup.
Sorry PP. I interpreted it wrongly.

ETA the funnies for my mistake.

Iain Dale (experienced & well-regarded by all interviewer/host) has a little something to say on last week's show.

Emily Thornberry 10 mins 34 secs
Ian Blackford 7.46
Layla Moran 5.56

And on the Brexit side...

Kwasi Kwarteng 7.06
Iain Dale 4.33
Richard Tice 3.43
Emily had 15 interventions, I had 8.
The Brexiteers on the panel spoke for a total of 15 minutes 22 seconds, while Remainers spoke for 23 minutes 48 seconds. The audience got seven minutes 46 seconds, of which Brexit-supporting audience members spoke for all of two minutes 34 seconds
BBC could do a lot worse than get him in to take the chair.

To be honest medicine shortages are a very real issue.

Ive been following the shortages of some meds for the last ten years.

Perhaps it was all down to Brexit :)
Perhaps? Dr Death says no perhaps; everything wrong in past, present and future is because racist knuckle draggers voted Leave - only a select few should be allowed to vote*

No Deal: Dr David "We're going to die" Nicholl speaks to Jacob Rees-Mogg
"Rees-Mogg was on Nick Ferrari's LBC show and Dr Nicholl phoned in. Dr Nicholl drafted part of Operation Yellowhammer"

Why on earth was Remainiac Dr Death drafting "impartial" Gov't No-Deal reports?

Littlejohn on Dr Death: Project Fear latest - NHS doctor cries 'Bring out your dead'

Then Left/Remoaners attack

Cowardly Rees Mogg "defames" whistle blowing Dr Death

Dr Death on C4 News "I'm going to sue JRM for this Jacob Rees-Mogg: Dr Nicholl as irresponsible as...

His complaint: "(JRM's) Words have actions" and I'm being... - yes Dr David "We're going to die" Nicholl, your scaremongering words made ill people fearful

MSM: Disagreeing with NHS staff is blasphemy - stone JRM

Kwasi Kwarteng on the Andrew Neil Show discussing Brexit & the Brexit Party

Kwasi stayed calm, but again raised spectre of May's EU Surrender Treaty minus NI Backstop being resurrected. Then says "No pact with Farage and Brexit Party"

No Deal dead?

EU-written Withdrawal Agreement is toxic from start to finish

Bercow really is an obnoxious supercilious toad.

Bercow loses it after announcing his resignation

He then paused briefly with MPs heard in the background accusing him of being a "bully" and one saying "come on John, have some dignity", before the Speaker raged: “Don’t tell me young man from a sedentary position what I can and cannot say.

“If you’re not interested leave the chamber, I’m not remotely interested in your petty fogging objection, countered inelegantly from a sedentary position.

“The position is as I’ve described it and quite frankly young man, you can like it or lump it. The right honourable gentleman has obtained the leave of the House, people will understand that as far as the Speaker is concerned his job is to stand up for the rights of the legislature.

“And never have been, am not and never will be in the business of being bossed around by some footling member of the executive branch.”

Afua Hirsch sometimes appears on Sky News channel's "The Pledge"

After that Brexitcast appears on BBC1. I'm not a fan of the chatty, down with the youth delivery. It sounds chaotic.
"Laura Kuenssberg and Katya Adler join Adam Fleming and Chris Mason for some geeky gossip about Brexit from Westminster and Brussels. (Warning: there may be some biscuit chat)."

Wee Jeffrey's a very low-temperature debater, with a background in serious conflict politics, and shan't be obfuscated by the arguments of those on the seats around him. Afua Hirsch (token African) is the worst sort of history-denier/changer who would be flayed alive if she attempted to express her identitarian victim-centric opinions outside of the liberal-but-armoured-bubble* she lives in.

I'll be giving it a miss. I used to watch it because the bias was so outrageous, but last week was beyond a joke. The bias wasnt actually funny.

Caller Who Used To Run Port Of Dover On What No-Deal Brexit Will Really Mean

btw Not that you'd know it from BBC and rest scaremongering, Dover accounts for only 5% of UK's sea borne import/exports

He's the best the DUP can offer with calm and measured responses on a national programme such as QT. Nigel Dodds possibly ,but the others are better suited to the local politics shows in NI.

She made a good start at the QT helm , which was refreshing. But something happened to her over the summer break. I very much hope last week's disaster was a one off.

Let's hope tonights show will be one of those that's better than the sum of its panellists.

I was reminded this evening of Mad Jack Fuller,a local character and MP. In 1810 he was ejected from Parliament after calling the Speaker an "insignificant little man in a wig".
Apart from the wig,Jack was about right.

Giving it a miss tonight, we're an hour behind , I'm knackered, and if I throw anything at the telly we're fucked for any news for the next three weeks

No doubt there will be a running commentary, and a rating of all the ladies(?)and whatever's is in the audience, I look forward to.reading question time
