Question about Christmas cards for wounded troops.

Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Earlier today I saw a thread on this site suggesting that people send Christmas cards to wounded troops at Selly Oak. I think that this is a good idea but looking at the following site I realise that as well as Selly Oak and Headley Court there are also 14 regional sites as well:

"The Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) at Headley Court is the home of the London medical rehabilitation centre run by the Armed Forces. The Armed Forces also run 14 other regional rehabilitation units."

Would it be a good idea if the MoD publishes a central address to post Christmas cards which could then be divided between the above locations so that no one misses out? This might be a better idea than publishing the 14 addresses for security reasons.

This is just a quick idea, what do you think?

Replies welcome from anyone, particuarly military doctors/padres etc serving in Selly Oak, Headly Court etc.

  2. Headley Court's about 10 mins drive away. I could pop down and ask them?

  3. Thanks, that could be useful.

I have tried looking for the previous thread but I can't find it.

I suppose that anyone could just post a card as the address to Selly Oak and Headley Court are on the web, but I expect that they would prefer it if the normal post for these two important locations were not inundated.

  4. I'll pop down over the weekend when I'm back in Surrey

  5. Is there a similar thing for sending cards to the lads and lasses in Iraq/Afghanistan?

  6. Bump..
