Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. An interesting article drawing attention to the problems of stress.
It seems odd that discusses the extension Brit tours in Iraqistan, comparing Brit tours v. US tours whilst ignoring the problems they (US troops) are experiencing.
Long article, part of which is reproduced below:

  2. I would of thought a bit of Dutch courage would be enough to calm nerves in combat?

In WWI they used to give the troops some spirits like whisky or rum so that they could be man enough to go over the top.

I definatly know the feeling of Dutch courage. As soon as you've had a couple you feel much calmer and like you can do more than you could without it.

Prescription piss up for the troops?
  3. Laxatives keep me going,
  4. To the toilet.....?
  5. See? That's what happens when you go around chucking your tea in harbours - you forget the traditional remedy of a nice hot cuppa. Never fails.
