A Project Manager is required by an international development specialist in Surrey. The Project Manager will work within the Health Logistics area of the business to manage a variety of health logistic projects as well as to identify further opportunities in this area. Health logistics forms a critical role in health systems strengthening and the Project Manager will work with donors and recipient governments to propose; implement and deliver health logistics project.

The successful candidate will be a supply chain / logistics expert with proven experience in managing projects, particularly in an international context. A methodical and analytical approach is required, as is the capability of working with excellent time management skills.

The Project Manager will spend approximately 60%-70% working within a project management environment and 30%-40% of their time winning and developing new business.

The role holder will:

*Be responsible for the successful delivery of health logistics projects, including projects to manage central medical stores in developing countries and internal projects to develop new tools and techniques to better deliver our work
*Manage relationships with clients including representatives from government, line ministries, and donor agencies.
*Provide regular reports to clients and senior management on the performance of the projects
*Provide technical support and backstopping for staff and consultants mobilised on health logistics projects, including: reviewing technical reports; providing input on activities and deliverables & planning and scheduling project activities.
*Identify, recruit and mobilise consultants to work on projects; develop terms of reference and outline budgets, interview potential consultants and negotiate remuneration packages in collaboration with the International Resourcing team
*Manage project budgets and take responsibility for financial reporting including completion of monthly rolling forecasts and monthly project accounting
*Identify and review potential opportunities, determine range of services necessary and align offered services and consider potential risks in the delivery of services;
*Promote health logistics services - prepare capability statements, concept papers and marketing material
*Prepare sales documents including expressions of interests, and technical and financial proposals, write technical sections, manage the bidding process and develop costing models and financial proposals.

Key qualifications and experience the ideal candidate will possess are:

*A solid understanding of logistics and supply chain management - particularly inventory management, warehousing and distribution
*Strong writing skills - able to write externally focused technical methodologies and approaches.
*Project management skills
*Experience of pharmaceutical supply chain management (preferable)
*Experience working in developing countered, particularly Africa (preferable)
*An undergraduate degree in logistics and supply chain management or related field or equivalent
*A knowledge or understanding of donor funded programmes (preferable)
