Problems surfing ARRSE with Firefox 1.5.0.2

#1
I have problems entering http://www.arrse.co.uk/cpgn2/index.php using firefox. I have no problems loading www.arrse.co.uk. However, when I click on the link to enter the forums...nothing much happens. Firefox just attempts to load for about 1 second before giving up.

I have no problems surfing ARRSE using Opera or IE so this appears to be a firefox problem.

Does anyone else have the same problem or is it just me?

edit: Similar problems with Rear Party and Rum Ration. I can enter the main page just fine, but cannot get the browser to load the forum page.

sometimes i get a message to tell me to enable cookies. when i refresh it goeas away and works normally. only happens on arrse.

one massive annoyance is when you click on a link, and it automatically scrolls you down to the bottom of the page! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I might not have read the other 20 replies damn foo' !

also..if youre working in multiple windows/tabs....and if you hit a link, and go to another tab while you wait for it to load...why does it bring the freshly loaded page to the front. very very annoying when typing emails....

Hmmm...so its me then. :(

Further experimentation reveals:

I can access the forums page ( http://www.arrse.co.uk/cpgn2/Forums.html ) and the individual threads.

I encounter the same problem when I click on the 'log in' link ( http://www.arrse.co.uk/cpgn2/Your_Account/redirect=1.html ).

I encounter the same problem with the Bioware website ( http://www.bioware.com/ ).

Any IT gurus have any ideas?

I have tried rebooting my computer, uninstalling adblock and reverting my hosts file to its original state.

Interesting. I have the same cookie problem with just one site (not ARRSE), but only on my MacBook Pro; no problems at all on my G5 iMac. Firefox 1.5.0.2 is supposed to be universal binary, so should work the same on both.

I am running Firefox 1.5.0.2 with Windows XP and i dont have any problems in here, or on most other sites to be honest, but if you have a few places that are giving you issues them i can recommend a Firefox extension called "IE View", you just download and install it and if you have a site thats not playing the game then you have the option of opening it in IE either temporarily or every time you go there, it works really well..

Here's the link mate..
https://addons.mozilla.org/search.php?q=IE+View&app=firefox

There is also a different version by someone else called "IE Tab" that seems quite popular but i preferred the "IE view", i guess its just a matter of personal choice..

There is a problem with the theme, but they're very complex and I couldn't sort it despite quite a lot of trying last night. I'm going to create the theme from scratch, but not today.

I use IE tab and Doubles is right - there is no difference. Can solve any odd problems like this and takes seconds...

Thanks guys! Both extensions works extremely well. I prefer IE tab though, for obvious reasons.
