It does sound a but gay compared to PREWAR.

I was taught PROWAR many moons ago:

Prep
Reaction to EFF
Observe/locate the enemy
Winning the FF
Attack (broken down into Approach, Assault and Fight-through)
Re-org.

'PRESAR' is the way forward. :wink:

Prep for battle (PAWPERSO).
Reaction to effective enemy fire (RTR).
Enemy, locate the. (Observation, Fire, Movement).
Suppress the enemy(use all avail wpns).
Attack(Approach, Assault, Fight-Through).
Re-Org ( PACESSDO).

Well, lets see, you're observing what? Something to shoot at? Right? So, your gats got one in the spout, right? So, what's the fcuking point in having a weapon with one in the spout and no sights up!

Feckin 'ell, what are you firing?
Anyway, the logic behind it when I was taught, was that once you've observed where the feck the enemy are, you can make a guestimate of how far away they are & set your sights accordingly.
I freely admit, that I was taught this whilst using a Lee Enfield .303 though.....

I think this comes from the days you would set sights for different distances, thus observation for approximate range came before sights. I thought it was 'Dash, Down, (Roll ;)), Crawl, Observe, Sights, Fire. I know that if I ever did the drill I wouldn't want incoming fire at the last place I was seen.
