prep boots for polish

#1
Obviously boots can get in a state after being on exercise and in some peoples cases like myself greasy after servicing etc

I just wondered if anyone knew of good ways to clean this crap off before just a normal brush polish?

I've always just tried my best to brush the muck/grease off before polishing but never works that well.

Any tips?

If you work with grease you should have grease removing agents? If not use benz, but don't set fire to them

Wash them?

Bowl of hot soapy water, leave to soak for 15 minutes, then get amongst them with an old toothbrush. Leave to dry overnight and polish next day.

Have I just been wah'd ?
no not a wah just wasnt sure but makes sense cheers!!

Just chuck a match on and make sure you've totally shagged the boot?
