Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. It seems that the Turks have been watching the actions in Lebanon with great interest and may intend to take a leaf out of the Israeli's book. The PKK has been making a series of attacks recently out of their bases in Turkey's neighbour resulting on civilian casualties, so how can the US not support them ? Of course, the neighbour is Iraq.

    Some quotes:

"Turkey said yesterday that Israel's action in Lebanon to stop Hezbollah attacks meant it should be allowed to take similar steps against Kurdish guerrillas operating from northern Iraq against its forces."

""Whatever step needs to be taken will be taken," the Turkish prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said"

The US may regret supporting Israel over this one, as if they stop the Turks they are protecting a terrorist organisation and if they don't Iraq will get even more insecure as the effects ripple through.
