Welcome to the Army Rumour Service, ARRSE

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial military website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. sh1t - what happens in a warm environment?

can the splint be easily removed when a limb expands and the splint becomes a tourniquet

are hospitals going to have to purchase more powerful cutting equipment to get through the metal bands (dont see an oscillating blade getting through it)

whats the matter with sam splints and crepe bandage - at least they can cope with limb expansion

another gucci piece of kit everyone will buy, and will soon discover its as useless as all the other new gucci bits of kit that lie unused in the store cupboard - next to the cardio-pump etc
  2. I agree, immediately casting a broken limb is not the brightest of ideas. Also, it is much more important to provide warmth for the core of the body, rather than the limb itself. Pointless.
