Americans are gloomier about the direction of the country than they have been at any point in 15 years ... according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
...
...more than eight in 10 now saying the country is headed in the wrong direction...
God help the Americans to find the right way. Maybe some suggestions made by British MPs would be helpful?

The USA has been heading in the wrong direction for decades. It's only now that the party is ending and the piper must be paid.

Here's an interesting and well written report by Donald Coxe, Global Portfolio Strategist for BMO Financial Group (.pdf file). It's doing the rounds in the City today. Arrse doesn't allow for the embedding of .pdf files so I've had to use Mediafire:

According to plate tectonic theory the USA has been heading away from Europe for millions of years. Which is somewhat comforting...

I think the injection of too much 'God' is part of the Americans problem. After all, they were not founded as a theocracy.

What surprises me is that anyone who despises Bush would give a thought to supporting 'more of the same' McCain. If you look at his policies, they are really no different. Screw the lower and middle classes, give all to the wealthy (trickle down economics - which doesn't work), and continue the war that cannot be won.
